Dependencies - "Dependency error" after upgrade to v6
Symptom
Dependencies errors appear in field configuration list view whereas configuration has not been updated.
Additionally, this line in your Jira logs may point to this issue:
...VelocityScriptEngine ... Error parsing script ...
Cause
After upgrade to Elements Connect 6, due to a change in the dependency detector mechanism implemented to improve performances, the initial dependency check after the upgrade can fail.
Resolution
You have to Disable then Enable Elements Connect App. To do that, go to Manage Apps > Elements Connect > Disable
The entire process (disabling and enabling app) takes around 1 minute to complete.
During this process, the Elements Connect fields are disabled:
- Jira users are not able to edit them
- they display an empty value in the Issues.
