In the Content configuration tab, you can find the settings that let you define how the pages created by the recipe will look like, and what will be copied and synchronized from the Jira source issue to the Confluence page.

Creation mode

This section lets you decide how to create your Confluence pages from two possible choices.

There are two ways to create pages with Elements Publish to Confluence :

  • you can design you own pages directly from the recipe page editor, and choose the format and data of the pages that will be published by this recipe
  • or you can create pages from a Confluence template of your choice

Selecting one or the other will change the content of the "Create page" section of the page.

Created page ("Design you own page" mode)

This section lets you configure the title and content of the Confluence page that will be created by the recipe with your own page design.

Page title

Use this field to set the title of the page that will be created by the recipe.
If the recipe is triggered manually, the user will have the ability to change this title before publishing.

Page content

Use this text area to set the content of the page that will be created by the recipe.
This text area supports text formatting (bold, italic, lists...) thanks to the tool bar at the top.

The following tutorial illustrates how to use this text area: Define page templates to publish in Confluence.

Insert value from the Jira issue

When creating a page with a recipe, Elements Publish to Confluence allows you to retrieve values from your Jira issue and insert them into the Confluence page.
By doing this, it becomes possible to initialize the page title and page content with a dynamic value, directly injected from the issue.

To do this, the "+ Insert" button should be used :

Clicking on this button opens a dialog which lets you select which field from Jira needs to be inserted into the Confluence page.
The values that can be copied from Jira to Confluence are listed in this page : Jira fields and data copied to Confluence.

Additionally, the following tutorials illustrate how to use the "Insert" option:

Keep value synchronized

Using this option will ensure that if a field data is updated in the Jira issue, the new value will automatically be updated to the Confluence page.

This tutorial explains how to synchronize the data from Jira to Confluence : Update pages automatically when Jira issue fields are changed.

Use the old Confluence editor

By default, pages created by a recipe will use the new Confluence editor, as per Atlassian's guidelines.
Use this option to create pages with the old Confluence editor if you need to.

Created page ("Create from Confluence template" mode)

This section lets you configure the title and content of the Confluence page that will be created by the recipe from an existing Confluence template.

Page title

Use this field to set the title of the page that will be created by the recipe.
If the recipe is triggered manually, the user will have the ability to change this title before publishing.

Confluence template

Use this option to select the Confluence template that will be used to create a page when the recipe is triggered.
This option lists all the global templates available on the Confluence instance, as well as the templates belonging to the space where the page will be created (as defined in the "Target" tab of the recipe configuration).

When a Confluence template has been selected, a preview of the template is displayed. Due to limitations in the Confluence API, this preview may not exactly look like the actual template. However, be assured that the published page will perfectly match the template.

The following tutorial illustrates how to use this option: Use a Confluence template from Jira.

Attachments

This section lets you configure how Jira attachments can be used in Confluence pages.

Copy attachments from source issue

Use this option to create one attachment in the Confluence page for each attachment in the source Jira issue.
This option copies the Jira attachments when the recipe is first triggered. Adding new attachments to Jira after the page creation will not add new attachments to the Confluence page.

The following tutorial illustrates how to use this option: Copy attachments from Jira to Confluence.

Synchronize attachments

Use this option to synchronize the creation of attachments in Confluence when new attachments are added in the source Jira issue.

Labels

This section lets you configure how Jira labels can be used in Confluence pages.

Copy labels from source issue

Use this option to add one label to the Confluence page for each label in the source Jira issue.

The following tutorial illustrates how to use this option: Add labels to Confluence pages created from Jira.

Synchronize labels from source issue

Use this option to synchronize the creation of labels in Confluence when new labels are applied to the source Jira issue.
