Activate the Cache


Problem

Using an Elements Connect field could lead to multiple network exchanges between our app and the data source, which might slow things down depending on the speed of the data source. This could make Jira pages less responsive at times.

Solution

To reduce these network exchanges, we recommend that you enable the cache in all your connect fields, so that the results returned by their datasource are stored in Jira for a certain period of time.

Here is how to proceed:

  1. Go to the Elements Connect administration menu
  2. Edit your Connect field configuration
  3. Go to the Advanced tab
  4. Activate the Cache option
  5. Set a relevant Cache duration (see What value for the cache duration?):
