Symptoms

After downgrading Elements Connect from version 6.10.4 (or higher) to a lower version (below 6.10.4), you can no longer access the Elements Connect administration menu.

Instead, the following error message appears:

Cause

Due to changes made to the Jira REST API in the Jira version 8.21, Connect live user fields no longer worked. For this reason, a patch was released in Elements Connect version 6.10.4, bringing important changes to Live User fields.

These significant changes are not backwards compatible, which means it's not possible to downgrade to any Connect versions prior to 6.10.4 if your configuration contains Live User fields.

Resolution

Before downgrading, make sure that your Elements Connect configuration doesn't contain any Live User fields.
