Elements Connect for Jira Cloud is installed from the Atlassian Marketplace or directly from your Jira Cloud instance. As a Jira admin, you'll install two apps that work together:

Elements Connect - external data fields — the core app that handles data sources and connected custom fields

Elements Connect - helper app — the companion that unlocks creation screens, JQL filters, dashboards, Jira Automation, workflow validators, and migration features
Start by installing the core app. When the in-app onboarding runs, you'll be prompted to install the helper app during the configuration process.

Navigate to the Elements Connect page on the Atlassian Marketplace

Click on the blue "Try it free" button

Select an edition, a Jira cloud instance and click on Review

On the next screen, review all the information and click on "Start free trial"

You will be redirected to the target Jira instance, and the installation will start automatically
Installing from a Jira Cloud instance

Browse to the Jira instance where you want to install Elements Connect

Navigate to the "Explore more apps" page

Search for "Elements Connect"

Click on "Elements Connect"

Click on the blue "Start free trial" button

Select an edition, the Jira instance Cloud is automatically choose. Then Review and click on “Start free trial”

Pricing & free trial
Elements Connect for Jira Cloud is available on a 30-day free trial and is sold as a monthly or annual subscription tiered by the number of users in your Jira Cloud instance. You can find details about our pricing in our Marketplace listing.

Installing “Elements Connect - helper app”
Once the core app has been installed, follow the in-app on-boarding and you will be prompted to install the helper app during the configuration process.
What is the helper app unlocking?
The Elements Connect Helper app addresses the most popular challenges raised by Elements Connect users since the Atlassian Cloud migration. With the Helper installed, your connected custom fields become:

Available on issue creation screens, not only edit screens

Usable in JQL filters, dashboards, and gadgets, behaving like a native Jira select list

Compatible with Jira Automation rules, workflow conditions, and validators
-
Ready to receive data migrated from Server or Data Center via the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA)
Sometimes, the helper app can take from 5 minutes to 1 hour to be flagged as installed.
We are closely working with Atlassian to resolve this issue.
During this time, you won't be allowed to create custom fields, but you could create connected items.
