App editions

Elements Copy & Sync editions

Starting beginning of April, Elements Copy & Sync is available in two editions: Standard and Advanced.

This evolution allows us to better support the different ways organizations use the app from simple cloning and synchronization workflows to large-scale enterprise integrations across multiple Jira instances.

All existing customers will automatically remain on the Standard edition by default.

You can change edition at any time from the Atlassian Marketplace.

This page explains the differences between editions and how to choose the one that best fits your needs.

Why did we decide to provide App editions?

Over time, we’ve seen organizations use Elements Copy & Sync in very different ways. Some teams rely on the app for straightforward cloning and synchronization workflows, while others operate large-scale integrations across multiple Jira instances, often involving external partners or complex governance requirements.

Introducing Standard and Advanced editions allows us to better support these different needs. The Standard edition focuses on providing the core synchronization capabilities used by most teams, while the Advanced edition includes additional features designed for enterprise environments that require greater scale, security, governance, and dedicated support.

This approach allows us to keep the product simple and accessible for most teams, while continuing to invest in capabilities that help enterprise organizations run synchronization reliably at scale.

Main differences between Standard and Advanced editions

Elements Copy & Sync is used by a wide variety of teams:

  • Small and mid-size teams using cloning synchronization to connect a few Jira projects

  • Large organizations running complex cloning and synchronization infrastructures sometimes across multiple Jira instances

  • Companies collaborating with partners, subsidiaries, or subcontractors

Standard edition

The Standard edition provides the core capabilities required to clone and synchronize Jira work items across projects.

It is designed for teams who need reliable cloning and synchronization with straightforward configuration.

The Standard edition remains fully supported and actively developed, and will continue receiving product improvements and new features.

Advanced edition

The Advanced edition is designed for organizations operating Elements Copy & Sync in large, complex environments.

It introduces additional capabilities around scale, security, governance, and enterprise support.

These features are particularly useful when:

  • synchronizing many Jira instances

  • operating large volumes of synchronization workflows

  • collaborating with external partners or subcontractors

  • requiring strong governance and traceability

Local recipes

Local recipes are Elements Copy & Sync configurations that define how work items are copied and synchronized within the same Jira instance.

There are four types of recipe categories:

  • Copy and synchronize Jira work items

  • Synchronize linked work items

  • Create subtasks from a source work item

  • Clone and move work items

Remote instance recipes

Remote instance recipes are “Copy and synchronize Jira work items” recipes configured to use a remote Jira instance as a target. They enable cloning and synchronization between different Jira instances. Increasing this limit supports organizations working with multiple external Jira instances, partners, or distributed setups.

Bulk clone Jira issues

Bulk cloning allows teams to clone large numbers of work items efficiently in Jira or JSM.

This feature is designed for scenarios such as:

  • project templating

  • migrating projects

  • onboarding new employees

Remote Privacy Management

Remote Privacy Management enables administrators to control what data is visible between connected Jira instances.

When you’re receiving a new connection request (from external partner for exemple), instead of sharing all projects of your instance, you can limit the connection to only some selected projects (usually external organizations do not need to work in all your projects), and thus reduce the data visibility to what is really needed.

Priority Support & SLA

The Advanced edition includes priority support with an improved Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Standard edition: response time within 8 hours

  • Advanced edition: response time within 4 hours

This ensures faster assistance for organizations running business-critical or large-scale synchronization workflows, where quick resolution is essential.

Upcoming Advanced capabilities

Additional enterprise capabilities will be introduced later in the year in the Advanced edition.

Synchronization audit logs

Audit logs will provide detailed traceability of synchronization activity, allowing administrators to see to improve governance, debugging, and compliance.

Improved field mapping

We will improve the mapping logic to allow robust synchronization across heterogeneous and complex Jira environments.
