Data Center

Elements Connect is meant to u data stored on an infrastructure managed by you, either on-premises or in private cloud environments. This includes databases for issue data, attachments, and other configurations.

As a result, Elements Connect has direct access to the database or other local resources, enabling complex data operations and near-instantaneous interactions. The app retrieves and stores data locally, eliminating latency caused by network transfers.

Cloud

Elements Connect configuration resides in separate cloud environments managed by us, and located in our AWS servers in North Virginia.

As for field data, it’s stored in Atlassian’s infrastructure (for Connected custom fields), with data residency options for specific regions while for the other field type (Connected fields), fields data (values) will be stored in our AWS server.

As a result, our app must use Atlassian’s REST APIs to access and interact with Jira data. Interactions may be slower due to network dependencies, especially if the datasource Elements Connect needs to access is geographically distant from our infrastructure in North Virginia.
