Estimate how many Connect field values you have

Effective planning for the migration of Elements Connect to the Cloud is essential for ensuring a smooth transition.

Currently, Connect is not compatible with the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA), which means some manual setup is required before migration. This includes preparing data by copying it into Jira text fields.

Before proceeding, it's important to estimate the number of issues that contain values in Connect fields. This estimate will help determine the most efficient method for transferring those values into text fields.

To obtain that estimate:

1. In your Jira Data Center instance, navigate to the upper-right corner of the screen and select Administration > Issues.

2. In the left-side panel under Fields, click on Custom fields.

3. Use the Type filter to enter “Elements Connect”.

4. Select all available field types.

5. The Issues column will display the number of issues that contain a value for your field.
   

   

The Issues column includes both issues with default values and archived issues.
