When creating a custom connection to the local Jira REST API, the “Test connection” doesn’t work and returns a 403 HTTP error:
Cause
This likely occurs because Jira doesn’t allow basic authentication on API calls.
Resolution
Go to System ⚙️ → Authentication methods
Enable the option “Allow basic authentication on API calls“:
